Looking for private investor to mortgage current home regardless of lousy credit have lots of equity?

I am a single parent who got sick 5-6 years ago and because I was a real estate agent I was not able to work and my credit went downhill. I have since obtain a new profession that provides steady income, health benefits etc. , I re-fi at 11% (i know big mistake) and now cannot handle the $1600 paym't (includes taxes and insurance). I am looking for private lender to overlook last seven years of bad credit and look at my current steady employment and home equity to give my son and I a break. Please only sincere prospects reply, Expedience is of the utmost importance to save this family.

As a former Realtor you are fully aware that the chances of you finding someone to bail you out of your dire straights are slim to none. You also know that there is really only one other alternative to save your equity … you have to sell. And lastly, you also know that your credit will eventually recover enabling yourself to buy another house in the future. What confuses me most is why you are holding out hope and not liquidating immediately. Still, I wish you luck, but wish more you would face reality.

Check with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the legal requirements. In terms of skills, your investment knowledge and commercial operations on specific industries will be a definite plus. Not only should you be involved in strategic planning, but you should also understand how the company operates on a technical level. Try to understand industry trends and valuations, because that is what you will do on a daily basis.

What happens to unvested stock options when a public company goes private?

If a public company gets taken over by private equity investors, what is the typical handling of employee stock options ? The stock options are given as incentive, so it would be unfair to ignore them even if they are unvested. On the other hand, determining a fair value for them is difficult. Would love to hear from people who have gone through this process or have the legal expertise to comment on this situation.

You can keep them as unissued stock or you can delete them. It all depends upon how you set the company up legally.

what does'private equity investor' mean?

When a company wants to raise money for its operations it has some ways, 1. taking a loan from bank, 2. accepting public fixed deposits, 3. issuing debentures or loan bonds 4. issuing preference and/or equity shares.

Within these when the company wants to issue preference or equity shares it can do so either by a. doing an IPO, b. issuing rights shares or c. private placement.

Private placement means that if the amount the company wants to raise is comparitively low and company does not want to incur cost of issue then it may approach few wealthy investors to invest their money in the company. So equity or preference shares are issued to few people at a minimum cost. This is called private placement.

And those who are these wealthy investors are called Private Equity Investors.

Does a public owned company lose or gain value when it sells to a private equity investor?

When I say lose or gain i'm refering to the stock market.There is a stock i have been monitoring and im wondering if i should buy right now before it EXPLODES.

Usually,
The buyer pays a little bit of a premium to shareholders.(no EXPLOSION though).It really depends on the price you paid vs thethe takeover price.Oftentimes, the news is leaked to insiders etc. and the stock moves up a little in anticipation of it.
It is better to buy good companys that have a "beaten" down price.
Then holding for the "rebound".
Subscribe to Morningstar (the free part) and keep "speculation" to a minimum.

Inside the Deal: Paul Hastings' John Douglas on Obama, PE and failing banks

The Federal Reserve's recent action to encourage private equity investment in banks was a helpful step, but it didn't go far enough. That's according to John Douglas, who chairs the banking and financial institutions group at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. In this edition of Inside The Deal, Douglas tells Suzanne Stevens that the Fed needs to set forth the basis with which PE firms can take a controlling interest in banks. Douglas, who addressed the topic in an article for The Deal newsweekly, says the Fed is working on the issue, but it's been very slow in coming. In the meantime, there's a healthy appetite among PE firms to invest in struggling banks.
